Plus 4% health & education cess. Standard deduction ₹75,000. Section 87A rebate makes tax zero for taxable income up to ₹12,00,000 — so salaried income up to about ₹12.75 lakh is effectively tax-free. Budget 2026 made no slab changes.

How is take-home derived from CTC?
CTC − employer EPF (12% of basic) − gratuity (~4.81% of basic) = gross. Gross − employee EPF − professional tax − income tax = in-hand. In the new regime only the ₹75,000 standard deduction reduces taxable salary.
New or old regime?
Both. Pick new (default), old (with your 80C/80D/HRA/home-loan deductions), or compare both. Old-regime slabs FY 2026-27: 0–2.5L nil, 2.5–5L 5%, 5–10L 20%, >10L 30%; ₹50,000 standard deduction; 87A rebate → zero tax up to ₹5L taxable.
